Shelters…So Much More Is Possible than You Likely Thought…

When it comes to the wide world of military based shelters, a lot more than the average person imagines is possible. When we first hear of a military shelter, many of us imagine the old type of underground shelters. These were initially referred to as air raid shelters. Some were above ground, but the underground design became very popular because of the 20th century concepts of nuclear war and the resulting fallout being wide spread. Shelters manufactured with a military design in mind have so many more designs and uses, however. These days they are sold by retailers all over the world because of this!

An Underground Shelter Alone Can Have Many Uses…

As one clever Forbes article points out, the underground type of shelters can double up in a wide variety of applications. Everything from a wine cellar to a home theater is discussed in the piece. The only short coming with this piece is its failure to discuss the popularity of mass manufactured shelters that are both above ground and portable! Just about any of the uses discussed above could be enjoyed within this type of shelter as well. The article also proves that many of those built in models aren’t really that deep under one’s home in the first place.

All of Those Uses Sound So Fancy though…

This is certainly true! What if I told you that many consumers like to use these above ground options as nicer, heavier duty, alternatives to fabric tents when they camp within the great outdoors? Well, it’s true; they’re doing it all the time. Many industrious campers (fishers, hunters, hikers and explorers,) will often appreciate a heavier duty design than fabric. Also, keep in mind that large animals (think bears) will have a much more difficult time infiltrating such a shelter. There is no arguing down the fact that a large animal could infiltrate a fabric tent quite easily.

A Sturdy Portable Structure Could Allow You to Enjoy the Best of Both Worlds…

When it comes to clever use for military style shelter designs, one doesn’t have to be solely fancy or solely outdoorsy. Why not have a wine cellar, or home theater, tucked away within your favorite part of the woods? With these sorts of designs that can easily be accomplished! While you’re at it, why not get super creative and construct a home theater/wine cellar in the woods that also has a place to store your hunting and fishing gear? What you’re doing here is truly using all that the 21st century has to offer a consumer.

Design Will Often be a Good Indicator of Price Range…

This should technically go without saying, but here goes, a complex steel structure under your home will cost much more than a portable shelter device that is transportable! Even pre-constructed designs for underground units have to be installed under the home. The foundation has to be excavated and a crew needs to bury the design under your home. The shelter itself is also extremely costly because of the materials used.
